			<description><![CDATA[you know I was thinking today about the current events in EVE. (boring day for sure), with the current love-on for Hulks, and the proposal to go after mission runners, freighters, indys, and pretty much everything carebear in the game, and I'm wondering if this is just the head of an EVE "civil war", where you have the folks that jsut want to hop in, do some missions/mining/whatever for a bit, vs the folks that just "want to watch the world burn". The Hello Kitty vs the folks that in WoW woudl take lvl 70 players into Stranglehold Vale for pvp they're guaranteed to win.<br />

ANd if it comes to that, I honestly think that we'll all lose.<br />

I really dont' see these folks stopping. For whatever made up reason they have for their actions (and let's be honest, outside of being pissed at having their super easy sovereignty system turfed hard and/or their opinion that PVP is the only way the game should be played and any others should be exterminated with the zealotry of a crusade, Middle Ages style, any other reason is just meta-gaming, and has a higher bullshit content then most political speeches. ), they seem to be hauling the banners high, preparing their crosses to be martyred on, and like political zealots being completely blind to the fact that maybe they're not on the right side and like their accusations that carebears get all the breaks, want to have it so everyone has to PVP all the time, everywhere, and enforce their way that they feel EVE should be on everyone; and death to the infidels that disagree. <br />
<br />
The ironic thing is that it's tactics that terrorists currently use now. If CCP makes it harder for carebears, they'll prove that their tactics work and should another perceived slight occur, out come the discothrons (and their smaller breathern). And if CCP does anything to curtail their actions, they'll hop onto their handy crosses and claim they're being unfairly prosecuted and that CCP is anti-PVP or some other bullshit that you'd rarely see outside of a far right political blog.<br />
<br />
So what's the solution to make both groups happy? There is none. The chasm between the two are deep and wide, and even the philosophy for why they play the game in the first place is almost polar opposites.  There really is no bridging that gap, especially not now. In the end, CCP needs to look at fixing a few things that currently are broken:<br />
<br />
- A hulk is supposed to be an answer to mining in the outer reaches of space, yet is as resilient as tin foil against a fist. Either buff it, or market it as a more effective high sec solution. One or the other.<br />
- PVPer's have null sec, alliance wars, low sec, ratting at all levels, scan sites, Faction warfare, DED sites and war decs to get their PVP release. And with all that, they still need to do this? Some of these need some attention (factional warfare I'm looking at you), but if PVPer's cant' get their jollies on that wide selection then honestly? Screw em. Compare that to the options for non-PVPe's; missions, industry, hauling, manafacturing and trade. Oh ya, the carebears get too much attention from EVE all right.<br />
- The insurance industry....is made of FAIL. This is one reason why this stupidity can go on without any downside. Hell some ships have been able to be profitable to blow up for up to three months now if you believe some in the industry biz. In a capitalistic move (and really isn't this game jsut that?) build the tools to make player based insurance companies possible. You'll see those loopholes and suicide squads disappear quick when they realize that they're losing millions (if not hundreds of millions) with every ship. <br />
- security status, like 911, is a joke. When -10's can get in high sec systems and do their thing, it's nothing more then a meaningless number. Enforce it or ditch it, and if your going ot enforce it as it should be, pods shouldn't' get a leeway. The current system now treats folks with shit security standing on par with how the Catholic Church treats child molesting priests.<br />
<br />
By and large, the game works. If things get too easy, things get nerfed (lvl4's for loot, sovereignty status, etc...). The mantra of "Adapt or Die" (although really Adapt or fuck off is more apt) is one that EVE does have, and really should keep. There's multiple options to switch too if you feel one side isn't worth it, but to have one side of the coin being completely nerfed to make some game zealots happy? No 'fin way. PVP, non-PVP, both are appeals to the game that should stayed, and should stay balanced. If folks want to blow up shit, there's tons of areas and ways to do so. If folks want to do the non-PVP side, there should be ways to do that as well. The options to be able to go full on mission running for 12 hours, or just taking it easy doing some roid popping needs to stay in the game as well, Having these options available makes EVE superior to it's competitors, at least for now.<br />
<br />
So will this fix the current events going on? Who knows. I'm sure even with this implemented, the suicide folks will already be on the cross going on that the game should be 100% their way, and maybe will have folks continuing to do so. To them I say there's tons of PVP options out there. DOnt' like any of them, or are too fail to be any good at them? Then perhaps leveling up a char on WoW and killing off lvl20's  is more your level of skill, after giving me all your stuff and reprocessing your char, like a good martyr should. <br />

<li>Always keep voice comms clear and listen to the FC (fleet commander).</li>
<li>Always span the local chat window then entire height of the screen..so you can watch for war targets and not have to scroll through the list as much.</li>
<li>Never go AFK while in space in low-sec,0.0, or while at war in high sec....unless cloaked</li>
<li>Always have safe spots to defult to in familiar systems if command breaks down...weather it is a planet that everyone knows to go to if the shit hit the fan or bookmarks everyone shares that are usually right center between 2 planets.</li>
<li>KEEP AN UPDATED CLONE. INSURE YOUR SHIPS. KEEP AN UPDATED CLONE. INSURE YOUR SHIPS.</li>
<li>Pods warp instantly... if your ship is into low armor get ready to warp to a planet or something. Pull up bookmarks or the jump menu. When you’re blown up there will be a brief lag and anything you clicked on previously to warp to will clear. You’ll have to re-click to warp.</li>
<li>Try activating weapons BEFORE targeting. This will target and fire in one movement. Remember to use overview it’s much quicker.</li>
<li>Ctrl-Clicking a player/object in overview will target that player/object...</li>
<li>Orbit distance in the Selected Item box (just above overview) can be set to whatever you want by right clicking the button. This is excellent for setting a perfect optimal weapon range, especially on frigs.</li>
<li>Get used to clicking objects in space and using their drag menus. Once you start using them regularly things become so much faster. Everything can be done in one simultaneous movement instead of several clicks and drags.</li>
<li>War Target info is the key to winning, know your enemy</li>
<li>Use locator agents when you can...they are a lil intel gem not used nearly enough</li>
<li>ALWAYS ALWAYS re-name your ships to something that doesn't have your name or your ship type in it<br />

			<description><![CDATA[The attached file will allow you to import the corporations default overview settings, as well as saved tab settings.<br />
<br />
<span style="text-decoration: underline;">Instructions:</span><br />
<ol type="1">
<li>Download the attached file <span style="font-weight: bold;">unas_settings.xml</span> and place it in your <span style="font-weight: bold;">My Documents\Eve\Overview</span> folder</li>
<li>Run EVE and go into space</li>
<li>Click the little white triangle beside the word <span style="font-weight: bold;">overview</span></li>
<li>Click <span style="font-weight: bold;">Import Overview Settings</span></li>
<li>Select <span style="font-weight: bold;">unas_settings.xml</span> from the left list</li>
<li>Click the <span style="font-weight: bold;">Import</span> button on the bottom<br />

You should now have the overview settings setup like the rest of us, as well as 3 tabs.<br />
